Oct 27, 2018 · Studio XPS 1640. Hello, So i have a 1640 that i really didn't use that much and in perfect shape. Bought it new in Dec of 2011. Windows 7 home prem service pack1, 8GB, Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53... I already cleaned and replaced the thermal glue, put in a 500GB SSD, took out the dvd and replaced it with the orig 500GB HDD.

I've just installed the 64-bit drivers and the device is now correctly recognised in Device Manger as a 'WinTV-Nova-T model 18109'.

May 25, 2010 · So I bought a Dell Studio XPS 1640 in Feb 2010, I took it outta the box and charged it up and turned it on.. About 8 hrs later while i was browsing the internet the laptop just completely shut off. It was plugged in , full battery i mean there was no cause for this to happen. I thought it was a glitch or what ever and paid it no mind.

Apr 25, 2015 · Dell Studio XPS 1640 system has not been customized with touch screen from Dell or any third party vendor as the touch screen would need compatible LCD screen and a motherboard. Which would mean you will have to replace the major parts instead you can go for a new touch screen laptop. I have a Studio XPS 1640 that still runs like a dream.
