Even later fats and early slims dont have any over heating issues and are pretty reliable so long as its taken decent care of. Depends - you want newer hardware that is probably going to last longer and emits less heat - go for Super Slim.

With a HEN PS3 Super Slim you do the following: Play PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP Backups (Do note that PS2 is software emulation so compatibility is not 100% but many awesome PS2 games become playable. Also PSP compatibility sucks but a few cool games can be played like Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7)
