Nov 5, 2024 · Anna Maria Elementary kids returned to their campus Monday, Nov. 4, with cheers and enthusiasm. The Manatee and Coquina public beaches reopened to the public but Kingfish and the Coquina boat ramps remain closed. The moratorium on vacation rentals in Holmes Beach was lifted. The Moose Lodge in Bradenton Beach remains closed for storm renovations.
Updates Hurricane Ian: Recovery continues, openings begin
Oct. 2 Update: Anna Maria Island’s beaches survived the impact of Hurricane Ian almost completely intact. Manatee County reported mid-day Oct. 2 that staff conducted before and after measurements of the beach along 25 sites and found essentially “zero loss” of sandy beach resource width or depth of beach from Hurricane Ian effects.

2 days ago · The Anna Maria mayor earns a $19,600 annual salary, while commissioners receive $4,800 a year. Both offices are two-year terms. Anna Maria had 831 registered voters as of Oct. 7, according to the election supervisor. The city electorate cast votes Nov. 5 at a new polling location, the Island Library in Holmes Beach.

County orders mandatory evacuation ahead of Idalia
Idalia intensified Aug. 28 and an evacuation order was issued for Anna Maria Island.
