Sometimes, soldering isn't the best connection method for your circuit. Heat sensitive substrates like TPU and PET can be damaged by soldering, and require an alternative solution. We used Z-axis tape to connect the sensor pads of our strain gauge (printed on TPU) and ribbon cable (printed on polyimide) to a rigid board.
