The Quetzal (pronounced “ketsal”) regurgitates an avocado pit and flips it in order for its stomach to digest the skin on the seed. Once its stomach acid has removed all the skin and nutrients, it spits it out onto the ground, allowing the chance for a new avocado tree to grow.
