The body of an illegal miner has been recovered from the Stilfontein mine in the North West. The decomposed body was retrieved around 11:00 on Thursday, after 44 locals volunteered to assist the police in helping the trapped zama zamas. Community leader Thembile Botman said volunteers had used ropes to pull the body out and that the police had collected it in a pathology vehicle.
